Wāhine Workshops: Creating connections, fostering healing

Nau mai, haere mai ki ō mātou Awheawhe Wāhine. Step into a space crafted by wāhine, for wāhine – a place to connect, create, and recharge away from the busyness of everyday life. Here, you'll find a community woven with aroha, strength, and care, offering a gentle reminder that you are worthy, resilient, and enough.

Our workshops: A space for wāhine to thrive

The core purpose of our Wāhine Workshops is to create a warm, safe, and uplifting space where women can step away from the busyness of everyday life to connect, create, and recharge. It’s about building community—true whakawhanaungatanga—where sharing space, stories, and laughs is just as important as the crafts being made.

Our workshops operate on a koha basis (pay what you can, if you can). There is no set fee and no obligation. Your presence is the greatest contribution.

A sense of connection

Experience a feeling of belonging and sisterhood, whether you come with lifelong friends, family, or show up on your own. Our workshops are designed to foster genuine connection.

Creative confidence

Discover the pride of working with your hands—whether you are pouring a candle, pressing a custom mug, or weaving mini poi—and take home a beautiful reminder of what you are capable of.

Māoritanga and cultural pride

Forge a meaningful, accessible connection to creative traditions and cultural motifs that ground the experience in identity and manaakitanga, enriching your journey.

Who are our workshops for?

While our doors are open to any woman needing a creative reset, our core focus is on wāhine reclaiming their peace, their power, and their sense of self. We design these spaces for those in transition, mothers needing a haven, and women seeking gentle connection in a safe, small group setting.

Mothers needing a haven

For mothers who give everything to their tamariki and whānau, our workshops offer a precious few hours where nothing is demanded of them, allowing their cup to be refilled.

Wāhine in transition

Women who are moving out of crisis and into the phase of rebuilding their lives, looking for a safe space to breathe and just be.

Our creative workshops

Every session at our studio is designed to be gentle, hands-on, and deeply rewarding. We keep our class sizes strictly limited to six spaces to ensure a calm, unhurried environment where everyone receives the support they need to create something they are truly proud of.

Sublimation mug making: Crafting your daily reminder

Design and press your own custom ceramic mug using vibrant sublimation inks. Choose from beautiful, ready-to-use cultural motifs, uplifting quotes, or bring your own original ideas to life, creating a personal reminder of your strength.

Weaving mini poi: Rhythmic focus for inner peace

Engage in the rhythmic, hands-on process of weaving mini poi. This activity uses repetitive motions that naturally quiet a racing mind and bring focus into the present moment, offering a calming and grounding experience.

Coconut candle making: Creating your peaceful glow

Learn the art of creating beautiful eco-friendly coconut wax candles. Infuse them with calming scents and intentions, crafting a peaceful glow that brings warmth and tranquility to your home.

What makes our workshops unique?

What sets our Wāhine Workshops apart from standard craft classes isn't just what happens on the table—it’s the intentionality, safety, and cultural grounding woven into the entire experience. We focus on "small-circle" safety and crafting with deeper purpose.

Intentional "small-circle" safety

Unlike commercial workshops, our sessions are strictly capped at six spaces. This creates an intimate, low-pressure sanctuary, providing a gentle, unhurried space where you can feel entirely safe, seen, and supported without feeling overwhelmed.
